Understand Which Inspection Your Vehicle Needs
Preparing to renew NSW registration or register an eligible vehicle? At Motorhead Garage, we carry out rego checks in Tweed Heads and help you understand which inspection applies. Pink slips, also called eSafety checks, generally apply to registered vehicles due for a safety inspection. Blue slips apply to certain unregistered vehicles and vehicles entering NSW registration. We'll help you identify the suitable inspection before you book.
At our authorised workshop, we examine safety-related items such as tyres, brakes, lighting, steering and body condition. We're also an approved mobile pink slip provider where a mobile inspection is appropriate. For caravans, trailers and motorcycles, we offer pink and blue slip inspections only.
If an inspection identifies a brake problem, you can read about our brake repairs. For inspection bookings or questions, call 0412 811 104.

What Happens During a Registration Inspection?
An inspection checks whether a vehicle meets the relevant NSW safety requirements and identifies items that need attention.
Pink slip checks. We assess applicable registered vehicles against required safety items. The inspection focuses on roadworthiness rather than routine servicing.
Blue slip checks. We inspect eligible vehicles that need an authorised unregistered vehicle inspection. Registration circumstances determine whether this type of check is required.
Safety components. We examine the condition of tyres, brakes, lights and other relevant systems. We explain any faults we find during the inspection so you know what needs attention.
Next steps. We discuss the result and any identified defects with you. If the inspection identifies issues, we'll explain what needs to happen before you arrange a reinspection.
